Did He Really Say That?

I’ve heard this said or asked about the teachings of Jesus Christ. Or phrased another way, did he really mean that?

If it’s in the Holy Bible KJV, my resounding answer is YES.

The hearer is having difficulty with a hard teaching of our Lord. You may find a rabbi or a preacher who changes the meaning by misinterpretation or softens it so that it is of little effect, but the Truth is the Truth.

Cut off your hand. Pluck out your eye. If they offend, it is better to enter life maimed than to burn in Hell. Matthew 18:8-9.

Matthew 10:34 KJV
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Luke 12:51-53 KJV
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: [52] For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. [53] The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And many other teachings.

If Jesus said it, he meant it, and unless it was a parable he was generally very clear about it.

A Promise Kept

The LGBTQ movement is celebrating gay pride month. Isn’t it unusual their banner is a rainbow flag?

Genesis 9:13-15 KJV
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. [14] And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: [15] And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

There are 3 possibilities as to why the LGBTQ community would honor the rainbow.

1. An attempt to mock God. That is to say – you promised you won’t kill us by flood, we’ll do whatever we want.

2. Ignorance. The LGBTQ community is unaware the rainbow represents a promise of God, a promise never to destroy the world by flood again.

3. It represents Hope. Hope in God’s promises. Hope they are not forsaken. Hope they are not forgotten. Perhaps even, hope, that they may repent and return to God.

My hope is number 3. Did you know it is said, Abraham hoped against hope.

If you believe that Jesus is Christ, and are ready to forsake and be forgiven of your sin, seek out and be baptized by another by immersion in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

His promise is: Mark 16:16 KJV
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Beggar in a Blue Suit

I find it amazing that tv personalities can ask you for $1,000 without blinking an eye. They’re asking for you to help the gospel go around the world. I’ve watched many of the Christian channels and the ratio allotted by time seems 90% begging, 10% bible discussion. And sadly it seems that only about 2% of that bible study is accurate and worthwhile. Let them get to the heart of the matter, believe and be baptized!

One of my previous pastors would misuse a verse saying we are to give every Sunday. 1 Corinthians 16:2 KJV does say Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. But every verse should be read in context. This is a one time instruction for a monetary offering to be delivered to the saints at Jerusalem. Can you imagine modern churches giving all their offerings to another community?

Why has giving become so sanitized? Don’t give to the stinky, dirty, hungry man or woman on the street, but use your credit card to give a man 1,000 dollar “seed” without knowing how much is planted in his/her own pocket.

Jesus said the children are free! Matthew 17:26 We as children of God are free. We dont have to give, but if we do 2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV is an example to be followed.

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give ; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Harmful Humor

There is some joking which I feel does damage to the Kingdom of God.

I’m a bit tired of preachers busting on Peter’s intelligence. They say oh Peter, that’s just Peter being Peter, look it’s Peter being foolish again. In criticism of Peter are they seeking to build up themselves? Christ himself only rebuked Peter once that we know of. We should focus on all the good Peter did. Peter loved Jesus, performed miracles, and spoke boldly for the Kingdom.

Preachers who say God told them to give an offering. Their next sentence, supposedly humorous, is about how the amount was so much it must have been the Devil they were hearing, not the Spirit of God. This mocks the Spirit of God and indeed may not be forgiven. Mark 3:29-30.

Men who joke about how their wife is the boss. This should not be so. The man is the head of the family. 1 Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:23.

God’s Purpose

Yes he did. You might not be able to find a verse in the Holy Bible that says I am the Holy Ghost – I have come to teach you the law, but if you believe Joseph Prince you are missing the big picture.

The Holy Ghost helped with the production of the entire Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation to its translation into the KJV.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Is the law truth? Is the Holy Ghost the Spirit of Truth? The answer to both is Yes! What is the Holy Ghost’s purpose and goal in teaching men the law?

Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

The S(word)

Scripture is not a weapon and should never be used as a weapon – said a local preacher this past Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Are we supposed to use scripture as a weapon?

Identity

I have quoted Matthew 23:9 KJV a few times in my blog; And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

What does this look like in application? I don’t have any children, but when I do I’d like to think I will ask them to call me by my first name, Dean. I can imagine an appropriate time, early in their childhood, when I will explain to them how I am their biological dad, but we all have one Heavenly Father, the Lord God Almighty, Jehovah.

So when is this done? My dad never asked me to call him by his first name and I don’t know of anyone where this has been the case. But if this little known command were put into practice – teaching our children early that they are sons or daughters of God, would it solve problems of gender identity?

I believe identity found in God is truly a strong foundation. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 KJV Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you, [18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Aptitude

I recently saw a sign inside a Catholic Church on EWTN that said, Jesus is My Teacher. It caused me to think to myself – for how many people is that really true. How many people are truly learners?

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

How many people hear his words and how many follow them? Not being a slow student but a quick learner. And not just a quick learner, but a doer.

Have you heard his saying and do you keep it?

Don’t seek the least you can do which is to avoid fornication and food offered to idols Acts 21:25, but as a Christian hear all Jesus’ teachings. Hear him when he teaches through Moses and the prophets. Hear him when he teaches through Job. Hear him when he teaches through Paul. Hear him in all the other New and Old Testament authors. Hear him when its Red Letter in your Holy Bible.

The Teacher is Perfect. What’s left? The aptitude of the learner!

Show and Tell

I’ve heard people say that the God of the Old Testament isn’t the same as the God of the New Testament.

Is there a difference? And what is it?

I think the difference is this: In the Old Testament God told us what to do. In the New Testament he asks us to follow his will and he even provided us with an example to show us the way.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Occupational Hazard

One of the most recent attacks on the King James Version Holy Bible is about Jesus’ occupation.

They say the KJV is incorrect. Jesus wasn’t a carpenter he was an architect. We are told correctly Jesus was a carpenter in Mark 6:3. As was Joseph, his adoptive father, Matthew 13:55.

They want to argue the word architect wasn’t in use during the time of the KJV translation. If you ask me, this argument is right up there with the argument that there weren’t camels around in the Old Testament, although the Bible clearly says that there were. Camels are mentioned several times in Genesis.

It is detrimental to the truth, to his word. You aren’t building up Jesus. You are tearing him down. There is no benefit in trying to give him a better, more respectful occupation. He is God. He doesn’t need you to build him up, especially while attacking the Holy Ghost inspired KJV.

Make sure the foundation. Mine is the KJV.
