There is some joking which I feel does damage to the Kingdom of God.
I’m a bit tired of preachers busting on Peter’s intelligence. They say oh Peter, that’s just Peter being Peter, look it’s Peter being foolish again. In criticism of Peter are they seeking to build up themselves? Christ himself only rebuked Peter once that we know of. We should focus on all the good Peter did. Peter loved Jesus, performed miracles, and spoke boldly for the Kingdom.
Preachers who say God told them to give an offering. Their next sentence, supposedly humorous, is about how the amount was so much it must have been the Devil they were hearing, not the Spirit of God. This mocks the Spirit of God and indeed may not be forgiven. Mark 3:29-30.
Men who joke about how their wife is the boss. This should not be so. The man is the head of the family. 1 Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:23.
