Heard

There are two words in the Bible in two key verses that encompass the heart of the entire Christian faith.

The word believe in John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

And the word call in Romans 10:13 KJV For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Both of these words incorporate the sum of all scripture in their definitions. If you call upon the Lord you want to be heard. In order to be heard your call should be in accord with God’s word, the Holy Bible.

You must know Jehovah. You must know Jesus. Jeremiah 29:12-13 KJV says, Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. [13] And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

After discovering Jesus as Lord, we seek to please him by keeping his word. One of the first things we must do is be baptized by immersion in water. Mark 16:16 KJV He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

To keep his word we must know it. The Ten Commandments can be found in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. They are still in effect under the New Testament Covenant. 2 John 1:6 KJV says,  And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Walk in the light, remembering after baptism 1 John 1:9 (confession) exists for the remission of sins and Hebrews 10:26-27 exists to warn us against further wilful sin.

Ultimately it’s up to God to respond to your call. It is my personal opinion that you should continue to call upon the Lord even if you are currently stuck in sin. The Lord delivered me from cigarettes and porn. For me it wasn’t instantaneous. It took years of desiring to quit, reading the Holy Bible, and asking the Lord for help, but I can now say I’m finally living righteously and trying daily to walk in the light.

Don’t give up! Call upon the Lord. Call upon him out of need or fear. Call upon him out of love! Your salvation depends upon it!

A Way of Escape

Despite the fact that many Christians hope to escape judgment day and some even claim that all that is left is a dispensation of rewards, the Bible says in Revelation 20:13 KJV … and they were judged every man according to their works.

Matt Crouch, owner of TBN has said several times, “It’s not about what I have or have not done, it’s what He did. ” I do not doubt he heard this in time of distress as he claims, I do doubt it was the voice of God. There will be a judgment day. And all mankind will be judged according to their works (how each man and woman lived their life, what they did or did not do).

There is no magic loophole to be found in the Bible to escape judgment.

2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV tells us, For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

If you hope to have a home in Heaven, Believe in Jesus Christ, Be Baptized, Confess your Wrongs, Don’t Sin, and if you are so blessed, live life with an abundance of Love.

Without Condition

Why do people seek unconditional love? Why do they look for it from others and even expect it from God? Is the answer as simple as what can I get away with in this relationship?

I want love with honesty and trust. I want friends and family that care about me. If they love me, they care what I do. They care how I treat them and others.

Love without condition is either pure desperation or lust without any real emotional connection. It’s not something to hope for or desire.

God places conditions on his love, if you hope to be with him forever. The first condition is John 3:16 – believe. The second condition is John 14:15 – behave.

Believe and Behave

I recently came across this post on X:

“If the person who offers you Salvation is the same person who threatens you with punishment and “eternal damnation” that is not Salvation.

That’s extortion!”

I thought about it. I couldn’t come up with a strong argument against it. However, the response that did come to mind was – is it wrong for one person or entity to wield both the carrot and the stick. I think the answer to that is, it depends. It depends on the purpose?

So what is God purpose? What does God expect from men?

To believe and behave.

That’s a simple and straightforward purpose. Believe in love and act in love. It will make both you and the world a better place.

Open Letter to Israel and the Diaspora

Accept Jesus as Messiah.

Repent and be baptized by another, by immersion in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost or in the name of Jesus Christ.

Do not call anyone Rabbi or Master. We have one Rabbi and one Master, Jesus Christ.

Do not believe you can be saved by approaching Jehovah directly. We all need Jesus for remission of sins in the act of baptism and for forgiveness by confession.

Don’t believe that being a descendant of Abraham will save you or that you are entitled to approach God the Father directly because of your ancestry.

Pray to the Father in Jesus name. Jesus is the only intermediary between us and God. Men, do not cover your head when you pray and bring shame upon yourself.

Don’t believe Jesus’ body was stolen away by his disciples. He is our resurrected Lord.

Isaiah 12:2 KJV
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Do You Hear What I Hear

I had a preacher recently tell me to keep the law and Jesus was adultery.

I told him to keep the law and Jesus was being an adult.

The thought was prompted by autocorrect but it does embody what I believe.

If you believe in Jesus, and call upon him, Jesus will help you keep the law. And in keeping the law you will be saved.

James 1:22 KJV But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Placing Membership

Most churches I’ve attended expect you to place membership with them.

There is absolutely no biblical requirement for this.

If you believe and are baptized by immersion in water in the name of Jesus or in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost you have become a member of the family. You are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

What you do with that membership is now up to you. Will you learn, follow, and grow in Christ or will you let your membership lapse?

Definitive

Satan’s plans are nefarious and can at times be very subtle. One of his projects is changing the meaning of various words. If you hear his definitions often enough you might just believe them.

  • Religion is bad
  • Legalism is evil
  • Love is unconditional
  • Male is a sexist distinction
  • Female is a personal distinction
  • Sexuality is a choice
  • Life is after birth and before senility
  • White Lie
  • Half Truth

Changing the meaning of words leads to confusion and confusion leads to sin.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 5:20 KJV Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

But what if you’ve been misled and don’t know the difference?

Believe

Many preachers and teachers of the gospel claim God’s love is unconditional.

Why would you want a God who claims to love you, but doesn’t care what you do?

These teachers simply don’t understand love. Love says do better. It says stop doing things that harm both me and you. The gospel says that if you don’t keep his Commandments there will be consequences. His Commandments are established to make our lives better and as guidelines for a stronger, healthier relationship with God.

When you hear a preacher say, Christianity isn’t about reading the Bible, it isn’t about keeping rules and regulations, it isn’t even about attending Church, it’s about relationship. Run. Find a new congregation.

Relationship is reading the Holy Bible, it is keeping his Commandments, it’s about worship in his house and at home. Love is made of truth and honor. There is no such thing as unconditional love.

If you’re new to Christianity read John 3:16. It’s the first condition. Believe.

Doer

I just heard on Three Cosmic Messages Earth’s Final Conflict, “We do not follow God’s Commandments in order to be saved, but because we are saved.” I have heard a similar message before: “We are not saved by our best efforts”, “Jesus finished the work on the cross.”

To be frank, these statements are misleading. In fact they aren’t far from the false doctrine “once saved, always saved”. They imply there is nothing we have to do on our part.

I’m not convinced Jesus is finished working. If he were finished, why do we yet pray?

Jesus dying on the cross is an offer of salvation. What must we do? Accept by believing in accordance with John 3:16, be baptized by immersion in water in the name of Jesus or in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Mark 16:16.

What else must we do to be saved? What does the Bible say?

Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Romans 2:13 KJV (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

And let’s not forget 1 John 1:9 and Proverbs 28:13. If we err and sin these verses instruct us on how to be free.

Finally, with belief, we are saved by our best efforts in Christ who gives us both strength and guidance that we may walk in the Light. And when we need help with our efforts, we call upon the Lord. Roman’s 10:13.
