Things That Make You Go Hmmm.

A few days ago on the Jim Baker show, Jim said God has shown me that great and terrible things are about to take place on the Earth, but I have prayed to the Lord that these things don’t come to pass.

Talk about a no lose comment. Essentially, either I’m a great prophet or God listens closely to my prayers. I don’t see the downside unless it’s a lie (my personal guess) and that God will surely judge.

Another pastor on a different show was saying God’s love is unconditional, all you have to do is … .

Now I don’t believe God’s love is unconditional. If he doesn’t care what you do, his love is really worthless. I think the comment just shows the stupidity of the people who profess God’s love as unconditional. They don’t want rules, and religion has become a dirty word.

I believe the speaker went on to say all you have to do is say this simple prayer. I just thought this comment was funny and wanted to point out the hypocrisy. His love is unconditional, but oh here’s a condition.

Between us the first condition is believe. John 3:16.

Malpractice

The Bible says in Luke 11:52 KJV
Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Who are the lawyers? Any teacher or preacher of the Word of God is a lawyer. It is impossible to teach or preach the Word without practicing law. Unfortunately, Christianity is rampant with malpractice.

How do they prevent others from entering into the Kingdom of Heaven: misinformation and incorrect doctrine. They bring people to the door. They teach a “Prayer of Salvation” and do not usher the people through the door.

Baptism is crucial to salvation. Mark 16:16. It is being born again. Only after baptism do you enter into the Kingdom of God.

Be careful to not place anyone between yourself and the door of Heaven. Study on your own to show yourself approved. 2 Timothy 2:15. Remember James 1:5 KJV,
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Alter Calls are Nice

Alter Calls are nice.

Prayers of Salvation have pretty words.

But, why won’t you be baptized by immersion in the name of God into his family?

Mark 16:16 KJV says, He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

What Shall We Do?

What shall we do to be saved? The simple and clear answer is found in Acts 22:16 KJV,

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Now there are crusades that claim to have saved millions. They usually practice unscriptural methods of salvation such as asking for a decision card or a prayer of salvation. Why don’t they start others off with a firm foundation? It is because they don’t know the Truth themselves. This leaves another glaring question. How many of those souls never found the narrow gate because they were never washed of their sins, because they weren’t invited into the family of God at the point of conversion?

The start often determines the finish. All of the major crusades whether in California or Africa should not only preach baptism from the start they should practice it. I found that a large crusade in California hosts baptism on the beach a few weeks after the conference. How many souls are lost between the crusade and the baptisms?

I’m not saying decision cards aren’t a good way to connect you to a local Church and I’m not saying a prayer of salvation can’t be the beginning of a relationship with Christ. What I am saying is that the correct knowledge of the Gospel includes baptism for the remission of sins into the body and family of Christ. It is crucial.

Jesus said, in Matthew 28:19-20 KJV, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
