A Test of Faith

I admit I don’t know all the answers, but I do recognize the test. Should Christians attend church or not?

To me and I suppose most people it makes sense that the government can request or order certain actions in times of great need. Public health can be protected they say with a stay at home order.

But let’s take a moment and examine what the Holy Bible says about the new coronavirus and attending church.

Hebrews 10:24-25 KJV And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: [25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is ; but exhorting one another : and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Matthew 18:20 KJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

And let’s not forget the cure: James 5:14-15 KJV Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: [15] And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Another Word on Covid-19

It seems like everyone has something to say about the new coronavirus. I hear messages on television, radio, and even my cellphone. It seems every company I’ve ever dealt with, plus some, have an email with a comment.

Here’s my comment and some questions from Malachi 4:5-6 KJV: Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord : [6] And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Does this speak of a future event? I believe it does. It could speak of Jesus or it could speak of some other Elijah type, yet to come in the future. But what a monumental task. How do you strengthen the love of a family and prevent a worldwide curse?

Perhaps, perhaps – you make them stay home and spend time together as a family.
